Went for a walk to collect leaves and came across some Shaggy ink cap mushrooms!
There were at least 10, some had been crushed but these were tucked under a bench.

Hedgehog
Saw this little fella a couple of days ago eating the bread my neighbour puts out for the birds, at first glance i though it was the squirrel that frequents the gardens but then i realised it was a hedgehog out in the day! om nom nom bread

Cornwall
Went down to Cornwall last week, in a tent at Bude. Visited a couple of castles and two zoos and unlike the previous holiday we actually saw some wildlife (encouraged by the bird feeders that i had put up):
There was at least two blue tits visiting the feeders regularly
A female chaffinch visited once
There was always at least one Chiffchaff singing away.
Saw a couple of Dunnocks, they chased off the Chiffchaffs
We had two Robins that we're always having an argument.

And a Red admiral butterfly warming its wings in the morning sunshine.

Last day
This time last week the holiday was over :( but we had a busy day. It started with us packing and being done by 8am so we decided to try and find Alverstone Mead to see some Red Squirrels, and we did:
Also saw a pair of jays, a pair of green woodpeckers, and a buzzard in a tree.
Next we visited the Needles, was very windy.
Also visited the Owl and Monkey Haven and saw Common Marmosets with two babies!
Then on the ferry trip home we saw the Queen Elizabeth, Queen Victoria and the Queen Mary 2 coming out of Southampton.

Isle of Wight Zoo
A week ago today we visited the Isle of Wight zoo (one of the main reasons for going to the I.O.W)
They mainly have big cats, and some of the rarer big cats too.
This is Tequila (i think) a beautiful female Jaguar, i have only ever seen a male Jaguar at Dartmoor Zoo
Nahla African Lioness (her sister Josie i have visited at Dartmoor Zoo)
Casper, A White Lion, he's beautiful and he knows it.
Zia, Bengal Tiger, who carries the white gene, and is much paler then the zoos other Bengals
Zia and Zena, sisters.
Zena the White tiger, who has had her eye removed due to Glaucoma
So now i have photographed Amur Tigers, Sumatran Tigers and Bengal tigers (orange and white). African Lions, Asiatic Lions and a White Lion.

Seaview Wildlife Encounter
So this time last week i was on the Isle of Wight visiting Seaview Wildlife Encounter, the day started off cloudy but eventually the sun came out and i even got a little bit of sunburn.
There are free ranging ducks that will eat seed from your hand! and Geese (I was a little less enthusiastic about feeding these lol)
Common Shelduck
Ruddy Shelduck
and one of the many ducklings.

Barnacle Goose, These were quite nice to feed, they didn't eat my fingers, much.
Barnacle Geese Goslings
A Canada Goose, didn't feed this one by hand.
And a Mute Swan, definitely did not feed this one by hand either!

Other birds: Chilean Flamingos

Pink backed Pelicans

A male White Peacock!
He's so pretty he deserves two photos :)
And a Blue fronted Amazon parrot
