Kestrel
Went for a walk yesterday looking for some branches to decorate for Christmas and saw two male Kestrels having an argument, unfortunatly none of the photographs came out well. Saw the Great Spotted Woodpecker again, and a flock of Goldfinches! Got a nice photo of a Swan that i might do a painting of at a later date.

Sparrowhawk
Yesterday afternoon I was out in the garden getting the rabbits in and a lone bird in the sky caught my attention, at first i thought it was a pigeon but it wasn't flying like a pigeon does, and when it swooped towards a group of starlings i knew it was the Sparrowhawk! Watched it fly untill it was out of sight, wish i had my camera at the point would have been able to identify if it was male or female.
Heres a photo of my last encounter with a Sparrowhawk.
Other bird news: On my way home from work i walk along side a river near my house and as i was walking i caught sight a of a blue flash zim down the river, the Kingfisher is back! so i am very happy to see him even if it was a blur. I was worried that the recent building new houses by the river had driven him off, but looks like hes back :)

Goldfinches, Greenfinches and Woodpeckers
Friday I was stuck without internet so my attention was drawn to the Silver birch tree in our neighbours garden and I spotted loads of Goldfinches and so I got the camera out and was able to identify that there was also a Greenfinch and a female Chaffinch in the tree, and much to my delight a Great Spotted Woodpecker!
Lots of House Sparrows visiting the feeders, the odd Robin and even saw a Wren the other day. I am very much looking forward to the trees loosing their leaves as its a lot easier to spot birds.

Garden Birds
Here are a few photos of some of the more regular visitors to my garden:
House Sparrows, i get about 10-15 of these to my bird feeders daily
Blue Tits, the most i have seen in the garden is 3-4
Great Tits that are often spotted taking peanut whole from the peanut feeder.
I love seeing Robins in the garden
The young Robins are now getting their red breast.
And also there is the odd one or two Dunnocks.
And every now and then a flock of long tailed tits visits the feeders :)

New Blog
So I decided to start a new blog listing all the wildlife i come across and happen to have my camera with me at the time.
Common Sympetrum taken in Ringwood on 28th August. I spotted this darter around a large puddle with 3 others, i'm amazed it stayed still long enough for a photo to be taken.
